Another New Year!!  Haven't been here in a while but lots of things are happening in the Magic City of Millinocket, Maine!  Trailside Country Store at 59 Medway Road, Millinocket, Maine will soon open!

Trailside Country Store is where the old and the new meet! Our mission is to provide an option for those who seek a healthy alternative for local food and Maine Made items not currently available in the region by being a resource for producers and consumers. We believe in an old fashioned country store approach focusing on the new appreciation and desire for locally grown quality food produced sustainably and humanely without excess processing or chemicals, as well as a place to sell products made by local crafters and other unique items. We may not have the old pot bellied stove to gather around but we also strive be a community center for those who want to live healthy to have a place to come together for guest speakers and workshops.

Putting the inventory together now!  If there are any items you would like to see us offer, please let us know!  We can be reached on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/trailsidestore/
or email us at trailsidestore@gmail.com!

Chaga now available!

As you may know, we're at the northern end of the Appalachian Trail and about an hour from two Provinces of Canada, all in the shadow of Mt. Katahdin and more than 200,000 acres of some of the most pristine forest in the country. Prime Chaga mushroom country!  Wild birch trees grow in northern climates, north of the 45th parallel where they have to endure challenging weather conditions. It is these nutrients which Chaga draws from and concentrates. Rather than soft like a mushroom, chaga is hard, almost as hard as wood. It is unique, nothing like common mushrooms. In fact, chaga is the most nutritionally dense of all tree growths. Known by the Siberians as the “Gift from God” and the “Mushroom of Immortality,” this vibrant growth has been used by humans to support health for thousands of years. In addition to nature photography we also sell Chaga!
